With Paul Walker's passing triggering a necessary change in the Fast and Furious franchise, we decided to take a look at the phenomenon of a TV or film series having to decide on recasting a character. Sometimes it is due to loss, but many other times it is due to an actor's ego or selfish needs. So when an actor departs, how do you know when it should be recast versus just letting the character go?

Discussed on this episode of The Hollywood Outsider Movie and TV Podcast:

  • Our topic this week: When a prominent actor leaves a film or television series, should they be replaced?
  • Upcoming releases including The Longest Ride and Ex Machina
  • Spoiler-free reviews of Ex Machina and Furious 7
