On this episode of The Hollywood Outsider podcast, we revisit a topic that simply fails to change much, video game movies. It's been decades since Hollywood began cranking out video game adaptations, but unlike other mediums, movies cannot seem to find that sweet spot that appeals to both gamers and film fans alike. It's rare that Hollywood even approaches a good movie with these properties. So this episode we discuss this struggle, and answer the most important question: why can't video game movies get it right?!

Also this week: movie and TV news including a discussion on the evolution of binge watching and coming back to weekly releases, intellectual properties taking over content, as well as spoiler-free reviews of Uncharted and Dog.  Then we are joined by the Executive Director of the Beloit International Film Festival to discuss the event, which runs from Feb 25 - Mar 6, 2022. All this and more on this week's all-new episode of The Hollywood Outsider podcast.

On this episode of The Hollywood Outsider podcast, we decided we would come together as a unified group and do the one thing that no one else on the planet seems willing to do anymore: we're going to admit we were WRONG! You know how it is these days, every conversation you have online or with friends on your movie or TV show of choice always ends up with people treating their opinions as facts, and no one seems capable of admitting they might just be incorrect. So on this episode, we each dive into our own treasure chest of opinions over the years and admit a few things we were definitely wrong about.

Also this week: movie and TV news including MoviePass attempting a comeback and Marvel's Netflix shows leaving the service, Entertainment Weekly and the death of print media, as well as spoiler-free reviews of Death on the Nile and Kimi.  All this and more on this week's all-new episode of The Hollywood Outsider podcast.

On this episode of The Hollywood Outsider podcast, we are discussing impactful TV episodes, those specific shows that affected us directly. Beginning with a pair of twisted tales from The Twilight Zone, through Buffy the Vampire Slayer's addressing of death in The Body, the tragedy of M.A.S.H., the mistake of fan-service in Moonlighting, to the mind-blowing finale of The Leftovers; there is a lot to discuss. What is it about television that can cause us to delve deep into our souls for a bit of retrospection? And why is it so rare?

Also this week: our spoiler-free review of Last Looks and The Woman in the Window Across the Street from the Girl in the Window, movie and TV news including Jason Momoa joining Fast 10 and the Halo trailer, and D.A.R.E. comes after Euphoria, prompting a debate on what is the responsibility of art? All this and more on this week's all-new episode of The Hollywood Outsider podcast.

Jack Reacher is a retired military investigator who simply wants to now live his life however he sees fit. But after a murder is pinned on him and things somehow get even more personal, Reacher sets off for justice by using the little details that matter to find those responsible and – if possible – burn them all to the ground. He’s a man who never bluffs, never quits, and he never backs down. On this episode, REACHER star Alan Ritchson sits down with Aaron from The Hollywood Outsider to discuss bringing Lee Child's iconic character of Jack Reacher to the streaming masses with this new series, available on Prime Video beginning February 4th.

Alan Ritchson is an actor, writer, and director who you might know from his roles in Blood Drive, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, not to mention his beloved roles as Thad in Blue Mountain State or Hawk in Titans. In this interview, we discuss Alan’s take on the role, what Reacher means to fans, how genuine those insane fights scenes are, which Reacher book he would love to see made for a future season, and a lot more.

Enjoy this interview with Alan Ritchson, and be sure to stay tuned after the interview as we deliver our spoiler-free review of REACHER: Season 1, which begins streaming February 4th on Prime Video. Scroll down for the video interview.
